En español no se puede decir UN OTRO

Un error muy frecuente entre los estudiantes de español es decir UN OTRO. Con esta explicación no volveréis a cometerlo. 

En español, delante del adjetivo OTRO, OTRA, OTROS, OTRAS nunca podemos poner en artículo indefinido (un, una, unos, unas). Este es un error que todos los estudiantes de español cometéis con mucha frecuencia y que  debéis corregir, porque suena muy mal.

NO decimos: Dame un otro mapa; decimos: Dame otro mapa, que es la manera correcta. Aprovechamos, también, para recordar que la palabra MAPA es masculina y que, por lo tanto, es el mapa y no la mapa.

Diferencias entre «allá», «haya», «halla»

«Allá», «haya», «halla», seguramente has oído estas palabras que tienen significados completamente diferentes. En esta lección te explicamos las diferencias. De estas tres palabras, “allá” es la más fácil de distinguir, por su grafía que lleva una tilde, y su pronunciación aguda. Sin embargo, “halla” y “haya”, son palabras que la mayoría de hispanohablantes pronuncian igual.  Vamos a conocer estas tres palabras un poco mejor.  “HALLA” Es una forma del verbo «hallar”, que significa encontrar a alguien o algo. Descubrir una verdad o entender una cosa después de pensar y reflexionar sobre ella.  Equivale a la tercera persona de singular del presente indicativo y a la segunda persona de singular del modo imperativo. El verbo “hallar” también se puede encontrar muchas veces en su forma reflexiva “hallarse” (equivalente a encontrarse). Presente de indicativo (yo) hallo (tú) hallas (él) halla (nosotros) hallamos (vosotros) halláis (ellos) hallan Imperativo (tú) halla (él / ella )halle (nosotros) hallemos (vosotros) hallad (ellos) hallen Ejemplos: Ella siempre halla la manera de escaparse de los problemas / Ella siempre encuentra la manera de escaparse de los problemas.  Me hallo en medio de un bosque muy especial / Me encuentro en medio de un bosque muy especial.  “HAYA” Ahora se trata de una forma de la conjugación del verbo “haber”. La primera y la tercera persona del presente de subjuntivo. Y sus principal función es aparecer como auxiliar en tiempos compuestos. Presente de subjuntivo (yo) haya (tú) hayas (él) haya (nosotros) hayamos (vosotros) hayáis (ellos) hayan Ejemplos: No creo que haya víctimas en el accidente. Cuando haya comido iré a verte.  Cuando hayas visitado a tu madre me avisas.  Cuando hayas terminado el trabajo tienes que ir a comprar.  Explíquenos lo que haya visto. Que haya paz en el mundo.  Como último apunte, “haya” puede referirse a un nombre de árbol.  Me gusta mucho el haya de tu jardín.  “ALLÁ” Es un adverbio de lugar y se emplea para indicar un lugar que está alejado de nuestra posición.  Al llevar una tilde en su forma escrita y pronunciarse de manera aguda, no es complicado distinguir la palabra “allá” en una frase. Diferencias entre conocer y saber

El verbo español «conocer»: conocemos  “algo” o “a alguien”.  Se utiliza cuando hemos tenido alguna experiencia con una cosa o con una persona conocida:Conocí a Víctor en la clase del lunes.Conozco un parque muy bonito en Valencia. En cambio, el verbo «saber» lo utilizamos para hablar de habilidades aprendidas como hablar un idioma, practicar un deporte, ir en bici, etc:Esta estudiante sabe hablar cinco lenguas.El profesor Víctor sabe jugar a fútbol muy bien. Ya conocéis las diferencias entre estos dos verbos, ahora solo necesitáis saber utilizarlos correctamente ? ¡A PRACTICAR!

Adjetivos que cambian de significado

En español hay algunos adjetivos que cambian su significado si acompañan al verbo SER o al verbo ESTAR. ¿Quieres aprender algunos? -LISTO: Ser listo = inteligente (clever) Estar listo = preparado (ready) -FRESCO: Ser fresco = sin vergüenza (shameless) Estar fresco = del día (fresh) -MALO: Ser malo = malvado (evil) Estar malo = enfermo (ill) -BUENO: Ser bueno = portarse bien (to be nice) Estar bueno = ser atractivo (to be hot)

I am student who just finished high school and decided to take a gap year and learn a language. One of my friends was in Taronja School last year for 3 months and she loved it, so she recommended me to spend some time there in Valencia. I spent 6 months in the school and had one of the best times of my life. I arrived with a very low spanish level, and weeks after weeks, I could see my progress. Later in October, I felt confortable enough with my spanish to take the DELE-B2 preparation lessons at the school as well. Coming to Valencia, I never thought I would improve that fast. Even more, the teachers are very nice and pay attention to every student in the class. Finally, what makes the school also so special are the activities, they make it very easy to meet other students and make friends as soon as you arrive. I definitely wanna come back again!

Spending eight weeks learning Spanish in Valencia has been a rewarding experience. When I first arrived here, I had a patchy understanding of how basic Spanish grammar works, which gave me a false sense of confidence coming into the country. I was placed into a class that was far too advanced for my level, and I quickly discovered that my listening and speaking skills were practically non-existent. It is fair to say that I was completely baffed in my first week of lessons. I eventually moved down two groups, so I could work on my listening and speaking skills. This level was much more enjoyable, as I wasn’t in a permanent state of confusion. I have noticed my progress continue to grow steadily over the weeks. Now, I feel like I have enough Spanish to get by on my own and develop my skill independently. Understanding street chit-chat is becoming easier, watching Spanish T.V. is becoming more enjoyable, and I can usually interpret written texts. The teachers at Taronja are young, fun and competent people. Rather than forcing us to fill out boring and repetitive exercise sheets, they make learning more enjoyable by providing innovative activities and games to keep the classroom engaged. The timetable is constantly rotating, so we can benefit from various styles and techniques of each teacher. Valencia is a truly beautiful city in a variety of different ways. The centre of the city is built around two lively squares, made up of old monuments, statues, restaurants, and constant buzz of passing tourists. The surrounding streets are full of character and are brought to life by the detail of their design, the classical Valencian balconies, and the numerous restaurants. The Turia park is another incredible feature of the city. It used to be a large river flowing through the centre of the city, but people decided to drain it after serious floods in the 1950s. Now, it is a riverbed, which has been converted into a lush garden, where people go to escape the city, exercise and relax.

I spent 3 months at the Taronja School and had the best time ever! I started from scratch but the school and its methods taught me Spanish very well. You can make a lot of friends through the activities and experience a lot of culture for a small price. I'd recommend going there for your Spanish studies as well as for the fun.

Hi guys! I'm Elena, a 30yo Italian girl from Venice. I spent 3 weeks in the beautiful city of Valencia 4 years ago, it was my first vacation in Spain and I decided to start learning the language doing a course in Taronja. What a great choice! Days passed by super quickly, I really enjoyed the time I spent there as I felt part of a huge family. They propose interesting activities every day and night and during the week end, supporting people in interacting and meeting new friends. I learnt a lot, Professors were kind and professional and the method they use is the best I tried up to now. I planned my vacations in Barcelona, Malaga and Madrid, always matching with Spanish lessons, during the following 3 years but Taronja remains my favourite. Swapping courses timing every day gives you a lot of free time to go to the beach or visit the city. Nice idea the cooking lessons, too! Super positive feedback for you guys! That's why I decided to come back this August to spend a month with you! See you soon Elena

Very Worthwhile It's been 50 years since I went to 'school' and it was with much trepidation that I booked to go to the Taronja school. I had imagined that I would be the old man amongst youngsters in the class, but although I was the oldest there, I found we represented a good cross section of ages.
The first couple of hours in class was rather difficult, but that was because I felt a long way behind the other students regarding ability. There were 2 reasons for this, firstly the first subject of the day was about regular and irregular verbs, which is, at least for me and some of the others, difficult, but I soon began to make headway thanks to the excellent teacher. Secondly, I really should have attended the previous week as well; purely my mistake when I booked online.
When I look back at the week at the Taronja school and the amount I have learnt I am very impressed and I would go back for more but unfortunately it's a very long way from home and being a family man I just can't justify it but if it was within daily travelling distance I would be happy to spend many weeks there. I am considering using their online courses, but we'll see.
For anybody thinking about going to the Taronja school, just do it!
