¿Mayúsculas o minúsculas? ¿Cómo se usan?

Muchos os confundís a la hora de utilizar las minúsculas y las mayúsculas en español. Entrad y leed, os damos unos consejos. 

1) se escribe en MAYÚSCULA:

•    la primera palabra de un escrito, o la que aparece después de un punto. Por ejemplo:

“Ayer fui con Ana a la playa y nos lo pasamos muy bien. Hoy no sé lo que haré.”

•    la palabra que sigue a la fórmula de encabezamiento o saludo de una carta o correo electrónico. Por ejemplo:

“Estimado señor García:
Mañana no podré asistir a la cita concertada…”

•    la palabra que sigue a los puntos suspensivos cuando estos cierran el enunciado. Por ejemplo:

“Había pan, mermelada, mantequilla, queso, jamón… Todo estaba buenísimo.”

•    La primera palabra de un enunciado que sigue a una oración interrogativa o exclamativa. Por ejemplo:

¿Qué día es hoy? No me acuerdo.
¡Qué guapo estabas en la fiesta! Tu traje era precioso.

2) se escriben en MINÚSCULA:
•    los cargos y las  profesiones, independientemente del nombre o la organización a la que acompañen, a diferencia de otras lenguas como el inglés, o el alemán.
Por ejemplo:

“su majestad el rey Juan Carlos”
“el presidente de los EE.UU. “
“el director general del banco Santander…”
“la ministra, Ana Mato…”

Así que cuando escribas una carta al director de una empresa, escribe su cargo en minúscula y ¡ATENCIÓN! ¡no olvides los dos puntos!

Estimado director:  (correcto)

Estimado director,  (incorrecto)

Diferencias entre DECIR, CONTAR, HABLAR

Con estos verbos expresamos acciones relacionadas con la comunicación. En esta lección de español, os contamos las principales diferencias.  Verbo Hablar1. “Articular palabras” (capacidad de hablar) Ejemplo:     – Me duele la garganta. Casi  no puedo hablar. 2. “Conversar con alguien” Ejemplos: – Mañana hablamos, ¿vale?                                     – He hablado con tu profesor de tus notas. *ATENCIÓN: Observa que “hablar” es un verbo intransitivo, es decir, no necesita un “objeto directo”. Los complementos van con preposiciones (ver número 2) Verbo Decir         1. “Opinar”, “expresar algo con palabras” Ejemplo:     – Mis amigos (me) dicen que haga un curso de español                  – ¿Perdona, qué (me) dices? 2.  Expresiones comunes para expresar sorpresa e interés: “¡No me digas!” “¡Qué me dices!” *ATENCIÓN: “Decir” es un verbo transitivo, es decir, necesita un “objeto directo” en la oración (parte subrayada). En el primer sentido (ver número 1), el verbo se suele utilizar como verbo pronominal. Verbo Contar1. “Numerar” Ejemplo:     – Vamos a jugar. Escóndete donde puedas. Contaré hasta tres: uno, dos… ¡y tres! 2.  “Relatar algo” Ejemplo: – ¿Te he contado lo que me pasó ayer en el supermercado?              – ¡No, cuéntamelo! Ahora ya sabéis decir, contar y, por supuesto, hablar español. ¿No estáis contentos? : D

Expresiones en español con CAÑA

La “caña” es el tallo de un tipo de planta (gramíneas): es alargado y hueco por dentro, como la del bambú; aunque la palabra “caña” también tiene otros significados… ¡UNA CAÑA POR FAVOR!  ¡NO, MEJOR DOS!Cuando en España vamos a un bar y queremos una cerveza podemos pedirla en botella o bote, pero también tenemos la opción de pedir un vaso de cerveza: pedimos “una caña”. ME HE COMPRADO UNAS BOTAS DE CAÑA ALTA EN LAS REBAJAS   También utilizamos “caña” cuando hablamos de botas: si llegan hasta la rodilla son botas “de caña alta”, y si solo llegan hasta la mitad de la pierna son botas de “media caña”. ¡DALE CAÑA!    También tenemos la expresión “dar caña” o “meter caña”, que significa <<aumentar la velocidad cuando haces algo, darse prisa>> : Si no te das caña no podrás acabar el trabajo.Aunque también puede significar <<hablar mal de alguien>>. ¡QUÉ CAÑA!   Y una de las más importantes: cuando queremos expresar nuestra admiración o sorpresa por algo, decimos “¡Qué caña!” Así que ya sabéis, tenemos «caña» para todos. Pasad un buen día : ))

I had an absolutely amazing time at Taronja!! I loved my four weeks here (May-June 2019)! I felt that I managed to learn loads in the short time that I was here - the school was very professional and organised, providing lots of excellent resources to aid learning! The lessons were very interactive and always lots of fun - loads of opportunities to practise speaking! Also, the social side was superb - every day there was at least one optional social activity organised, often more! I would love to return one day in the future! A friendly school with great teachers and nice facilities. I was only there for a week but my confidence in speaking improved significantly. I came on my own but it was so easy to make friends through all the social activities and I loved meeting people from all over the world from ages 19-70. I had an amazing time and hope I can go back for longer next summer!

Also I think a week is too short as most other students were there for much longer but that was not possible for me Since returning back to my weekly class on Zoom, I am speaking much better so thank you ! The school is located in the center of the city and easy to reach by public transportation or by walking. Everybody at the office is friendly and very helpful, they listen and understand your needs. They help you not only with school stuff but also with the matters of daily life and culture. Teachers are always prepared for the classes and they teach with an effective fun way. They understand your level and find out a way to make you understand and learn in a supportive way. Modern methods like internet and interactive whiteboard are used during the classes , which make the lessons flow easily. Grammar , reading, conversation, listening are well balanced. In a week different teachers are teaching in any given class that provides different styles, techniques and accents. Besides regular classes there are more classes to choose from ( like conversation ) according to one’s needs. Every week there are some activities, day trips and social gatherings so one can learn and experience more about the culture. The timetable of classes is constantly rotating hereby assigning a morning class on a day and an afternoon class on another day. Altogether it makes learning Spanish and Spanish culture easy, fun and effective process. Additionally Valencia is a very beautiful city with lovely locals. The city offers almost everything. Thank you all so much.

No Regrets! Ero alla ricerca di un'esperienza estiva differente, qualcosa che potesse permettermi di accrescere il mio bagaglio culturale e perché no di crescere, conoscere gente migliorare una lingua che sempre mi ha affascinato, così ho deciso: me ne vado in Spagna, a Valencia (ne ho sentito parlare così tanto che mi son detto devo assolutamente andarci). Così inizio la mia ricerca di scuole, ne vedo un pò inizio a fare le prime indagini perché comunque si vuol sempre andare in un posto che ti faccia star bene, ne vedo una, due però nessuna che mi abbia fatto scattare la "scintilla" finché non mi imbatto nella scuola TARONJA, inizio a visitare il loro sito a leggere un pò di recensioni cosi li contatto, è che dire i piccoli dettagli fanno la differenza, assistenza e cordialità fin da subito, dalla prima email è cosi ho deciso che è qui che avrei passato le mie 2 settimane. Un'esperienza stupenda che porterò sempre con me, che non vedo l'ora di ripetere il prima possibile. In Taronja si respira un ambiente familiare, tutto lo staff è sempre disponibile, simpatico e meritano un sentito complimento. I prof sono tutti giovani quindi imparare e migliorarsi diventa molto più facile. Cosa fondamentale sono le attività organizzate dalla scuola avrete sempre qualcosa da fare e non è mai qualcosa di noioso! Sono felicissimo della mia scelta!

After being with Taronja for a couple of years now online I decided to take the plunge and do their immersion course in Valencia, which, for a 54 year old, filled me with apprehension !! I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve done to progress and improve my Spanish, the schools new location was ideal situated at the edge of the old town near the Turia park. The facilities in the building and classrooms were excellent with information screens, whiteboards and air conditioning also there is great chill out space on the ground floor to relax in !! The standard of teaching was excellent with varied topics and wide ranging conversations and discussions with time taken to explain things if you weren’t quite sure or needed clarification on vocabulary or grammar. I had 4 teachers in total, including the conversational workshops, and I can’t praise them enough, they were all absolutely fantastic. I must also give special mentions to the reception and activities teams who were friendly, professional, helpful and a joy to deal with on a daily basis with nothing being too much trouble. All in all a fantastic experience one which I hope to repeat in the future.. Well done Taronja ☺️
